best antiperspirant for hyperhidrosis

Using Certain Dri

To get the best results when using Certain Dri, how and when you apply this product will have a major impact on its effectiveness. For optimal effectiveness against excessive underarm sweating, follow these simple but important steps:

  1. Apply antiperspirants at night before bed

Bedtime application "really is the best way to use an antiperspirant," says David Pariser, M.D., president of the American Academy of Dermatology. At night, when people perspire less, more of the antiperspirant's aluminum-based active ingredient is pulled into the sweat ducts. Because there's more antiperspirant present, it more effectively plugs pores. That signals the sweat glands to reduce or stop perspiration. The effect lasts even after morning bathing.

  2. Apply to completely dry skin to ensure effectiveness and avoid irritation

It is important to apply antiperspirant to completely dry skin to get the best protection against excessive sweating and avoid irritation. Consider drying your underarm with a hair dryer on the cool setting to ensure you are completely dry, apply antiperspirant, then cool blow dry after application to dry the skin. If there is too much sweat or water on your skin it may cause irritation, stinging and compromise the effectiveness. Using an antiperspirant after directly shaving your underarms is also not recommended since the skin is typically irritated by this and applying an antiperspirant can cause further irritation.
