Certain Dri® Perspiration Poll™ Shows Perspiration is a Problem For Many
If you experience excessive underarm perspiration, you are not alone. According to the Certain Dri® Perspiration Poll™, more than 23 million Americans perspire more than they would like to and are embarrassed by this excessive perspiration. The makers of Certain Dri® gauged the opinions of Americans about excessive perspiration:
11% report that they perspire “excessively” or “more than they would like” on a normal day:
- 58% of these respondents are men; 42% are women
- Majority – 74% – are 35 years or older
- 1% earn up to $50,000 a year; 39% earn more than $50,000
- Majority live in the north central and southern regions of the U.S. (30% and 36%)
Of those who perspire on a normal day (to any degree), 26% feel their perspiration is “a problem” for them:
- Translates to 8% of the general population – more than 23 million people who feel their perspiration may be a problem
- More women than men feel their perspiration is a problem (60% vs.40%)
- Nearly half feel “it’s embarrassing”; “it stresses you out” (25%); “it weakens your confidence level” (22%); “it makes people think you smell/have body odor” (21%)
- 17% are 18-24 years old; 20% are 25-34; 31% are 35-49; 14% are 50-64; 15% are 65 and over
